Today I sent a piece of my heart over the rainbow bridge.

Rhino came into my life as an overweight foster dog and I was instantly smitten. After losing over 20 pounds he changed from a crotchety chonky boy to an extremely social boy with too much love to keep to ourselves. I trained him as a St. John Ambulance therapy dog and we visited seniors and kids for almost a year before he retired. He attended Urban Canine Daycare where I work for several years and made many friends. We went to parks and cottages, lakes and beaches, and even got him his own cart for when he wasn’t as mobile. I’m going to miss how he sang for his food, stomped for attention and how he loved unconditionally. Although I only got to spend 5 of his 12 years with him I felt like I’d known him my whole life. I lost an irreplaceable friend today.

Until we meet again Rhino, I’ll never forget you ❤️ 😘
