Daisy

2007 - 2021

Daisy came into our lives and was adopted into our family following a period of observation with animal services after she had allegedly, while out on a leashed walk, lunged at a cyclist , who, riding on the sidewalk, came silently up behind her and her current owners. Startled she apparently jumped towards the cyclist. Cleared of any aggressive tendencies she spent the next ten years with us and showed only a dedicated loyalty to us, along with the attitude that "nobody threatens my family on my watch".

Her favourite exercise was running for a frisbee.....and she especially loved the tug-of-war following bringing it back. She was a huge favourite with the local children. Gracious and kind she accepted many rescue foster dogs into her home until they found homes of their own.

Finally, foot cancer necessitated that we make that final terrible decision to release her from pain. Dr. Liz came to our house and together we calmed Daisy so that Dr. Liz was able to help her transition with complete peace. Placed on a stretcher and covered with a blanket so that only her "sleeping" head showed, our final view of our beloved dog was one of peace and tranquility.

Run free, sweet Daisy..... thank you for being such a wonderful part of our lives. Until we meet again. <3
