Sophie

May 2006-August 31, 2022

I adopted Sophie when I first moved to Winnipeg, over 16 years ago. She immediately became my first and best friend and helped make Winnipeg feel like home. It was just the two of us for some time and I cherished her companionship. She helped me more than she could ever know and was the best road trip buddy. Some time later, she openly welcomed my husband and his two cats with love and affection and shortly after, welcomed our two children. From then on, we lovingly called ourselves “The Zoo”. As our family grew, so did her heart.

Sophie was a loving, gentle, loyal, and sweet soul and words can not express how much she was loved and will be missed. Sophie was not just our pet, she was part of our family. She was remarkably beautiful and regal. While her age showed in her later years, she still perked up for pizza crust on movie nights, food droppings on the floor from the kids, and all of our backyard bunnies and squirrels.

Sophie, we love you so much and there will not be a day that goes by that we won’t think of you. Thank you for picking us. We are forever grateful that we had you in our lives and we miss you tremendously. May you be eating everything you want, running, and chasing all the critters you wish, without pain and with great abandon. See you down the road, sweet girl.
