Rio

July 2013 - February 2025

They say French bulldogs are stubborn and they would be correct. Rio has been with us since 2013 and still barely knew how to sit, or return a ball. We can't even blame it on the fact that she is now deaf, since she has never known how to do any tricks. Rio always had a mind of her own.

Rio was around through every moment of our adult lives. Almost every move we’ve made, every moment we’ve had from our wedding, our 2 beautiful kids, hundreds of road trips and everything in between. She was our first baby. And our most challenging stubborn one. Her health has been something difficult to manage since we brought her home. We were told we’d be lucky to get 6-8 years with her, but she gave us so many more. Every vet we’ve met tell us Rio was the oldest Frenchie they’ve ever seen.

Rio was put on “bed rest” 5 years ago, but still chase vacuums, ghosts and forced the occasional game of tug a war until this past year.

Her big brown eyes, started to turn so cloudy, and her fur started going white, but still had so much lobe to give.

Saying goodbye is something we’ve been preparing for, for a long time now but now that the day is here it’s still so hard.

Rio, we’ve been so lucky to have you in our lives for all our big moments. You might be small but you have left such a huge hole in our family. ❤️

Goodbye our sweet sweet girl.

We will love you forever
