Lulu Matilda
June 27, 2009 to November 13, 2024
You came into our lives as a result of the ill-conceived, blurted out statement “If you don’t want her, I will take her”. Only a week later, when you were 11 weeks old, you found your forever home, and wow, did you give us a run for our money in the early years! Even though your spirit has left this earth, you will remain in our hearts and minds until the end of our days. You turned out to be a model citizen, but during our 15 years together, each of the following descriptors applied to you at different points in time:
Potential psychotic (as per our trainer, but thankfully her methods succeeded and you came around😊)
Treadmill runner (we had to burn off that extra energy somehow)
Sister of Belle
Defender of “little” brother Admo
BFF a.k.a. “PAL” of Puggles Hodge
Fastest dog at any off-leash park (until you were about 11 years of age)
Brilliant retriever and swimmer, who could always be depended upon to get those long balls that Daddy threw so far
Insufferable ball hog (and the main reason why doggie daycare no longer allows ball play😬)
Competitive dock diver, though if spoon licking was a sport, you would have won a gold medal in that too
Blood donor
Caregiver to baby bunnies
Eater of literally anything, including Dad’s cherry tomatoes that you so gently picked from the vine
Cancer survivor (thank God for Saskatoon)
Cuddler of your kitten brothers Ford and Chevy
But the most noteworthy descriptor of all has to be Daddy’s Little Girl. There is no doubt who your Master was, and you loved him with all of your heart. Just ask that German Shepherd who once tried to intervene in your game of tug with Dad. 😳
Lulu, there will never be another like you, and we will cherish your memory forever. You were the best “blurt out” we could have asked for.
We miss you and love you lots. ❤️🙏🏻🥺
