Carly

March 31, 2010 - August 15, 2024

Carly was a crazy, fun girl who loved life and lived it large. She did so many things with me over the years - agility and then scent detection were our two major activities. She was a Master Champion in Scent Detection with many other titles to her name, and such a joy to work!

Mostly though, my happiest memories of her will be our long walks at Birds Hill Park, where we walked many, many miles together. I will also always remember the smile on her face whenever she ran towards me here at home, racing down the trail to me when I called her. Those were her happiest moments and her happiest places to be. She was also my older dog Dream's best friend. Together for ten years, I doubt you would find two dogs who genuinely loved each other more than those two. We both missed Dream terribly when it was her time four years ago.

Carly had many health challenges during her life, having been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease at under a year of age, and then liver disease years later, but it never affected her happy outlook on life and how much she enjoyed every day. She was an inspiration. Caring for her all these years has been one of my greatest joys and honours. I will miss her always, but I know she knows she was well loved.

Thanks to Dr. McKay and Sunset, Carly was able to pass in my arms here at home, not knowing anything but peace and comfort. This was my last gift to her, and I thank Rita and Sunset for allowing me that privilege, and making one of my worst days a gentle and kind remembrance. Run free sweet Carly! Dream would have been waiting for her at the Bridge I am sure!
