Bobby
October 28 2004 - March 23 2021
Our beloved Bobby lived a full and happy life of 16 years before passing peacefully surrounded by his family. His last days were filled with naps in the sunshine, many cuddles, kisses and plenty of olive oil (his favourite treat).
Bobby will be remembered for his “more-human-than-cat” personality, his talent for getting into trouble, his sassy side-eye glances, and his coveted affection. You had to work for his love but once you won it, he was the sweetest boy to be loved by. Though he didn’t have a favourite toy, (why play with toys when he could be napping?) he loved antagonizing his sister Roxy, a good firm butt scratch with the occasional tail tug, playing with your hair, getting outside, the smell of peppermint, catnip and of course, standing up against our legs begging for olive oil whenever we were by the stove.
To my Sweet Boy,
I will miss your warmth against my chest at night, your soft barely there purring, your quiet company beside me, and those green-gold eyes that looked into mine with such understanding. You took a piece of my heart when you left but I am so grateful for the extra time we stole together despite your cursed kidneys. You certainly used up your 9 lives well and I’m honoured you shared them with me. You were my first kitty, my constant friend, my little soulmate... my heart is broken right now but I know that grief is just the price we pay for love. I’ll cherish our bond forever.
I’ll be seeing you, Bobby Boy <3
P.S I’ll be sure to chase your sister on your behalf next time I see her.
P.P.S Your adoptive brother Appa misses you already.
