Ace
August 1 2011 - December 18 2024
Ace was born in Alberta, the smallest but longest lived of the bunch. He moved to Manitoba with Curtis and his early years were nomadic until he settled in with his ‘pack’ in Old St. Vital. He was an attentive ‘nanny’ to his hoomins - ensuring they got plenty of walks and supervision during naptime.
Most of the stories that will be told of our sweet companion involve something that he ate. Perhaps the multi-coloured foil wrapped chocolates or when he earned the name ‘butter bandit’ by hiding a pound of butter in the closet, sneaking licks anytime we were out! The joy and abandon when he was let out of the car at the dog park - seemingly not touching the ground and the way he would bounce through a puddles and ditches with that goofy grin.
Ace had many friends and family that welcomed him into their homes and will keep his memory alive. We remember Hillary for her patience in teaching him how to walk on a leash (or trying). Shelby for building a jump seat so he could ride shotgun in the jeep. Greg and Curt for many fun adventures.
Ace will be sorely missed - our shadow that was never far from our side. Thanks to Dr. Rita and Sunset Vet for her comfort care at the end.
Long may you run xo
