Four Years of Sunset Veterinary Care
I am so thankful to announce our fourth anniversary at Sunset Veterinary Care.
Each year of operating Sunset Veterinary Care has come with both new challenges and wonderful opportunities.
Sadly Dr. Nash Zloty left out team to pursue other veterinary endeavours. We are so proud of her and miss having her around!
As the owner and operator of a small business the lines between personal and professional become very thin. When challenges arrive in one area, the effects are felt in both. I struggled to find childcare for the first half of this last year which forced me to step back from appointments. Helping animals and their families is such an honour and it was hard for me to not be on the road doing what I am so passionate about. Thankfully I have secured reliable care and have been able to return to helping families in the comfort of their homes. Learning the balancing act of parenting, being a veterinarian, being a business owner and just being a human has been constant effort. I hope to one day find the secret to doing it all, but until then I will continue to do my best.
Heartbreakingly my family said goodbye to our dog Jack. He was my heart dog and to this day I miss him dearly. You can learn all about my experience with his loss here. (Or if you just want to see his sweet face and read my tribute, check out this post.) We are thankfully still surrounded by our two little seniors, Hot Rod and Rigbee. They both turned 14 this year.
For some of the highs - We were so fortunate to have been featured in the Winnipeg Free Press and to have exhibited at the Manitoba Pet Expo. We love getting to meet so many people who love and adore their pets.
I am forever grateful to Nicole and Dr. Rita McKay. Without them Sunset Veterinary Care would not be what it is today. Their dedication and belief in my vision has allowed our little veterinary service to help so many amazing animals over the last four years. Thank you.
And thank you to all of the families who have trusted us to provide caring, comforting end-of-life care to your furry family members.
Hopefully some big happenings for year 5!
