Teboo

July 4, 2008 - August 14, 2024

Sweet girl, you came into my life as a 1 1/2 year old joyful youngster who quickly embraced your new name. It soon became apparent that you were a quiet and easygoing social butterfly. You were so quiet, in fact, that you were often mistaken for a stuffy. You were a people magnet and adored children and babies.

You could walk quite a distance on those wee little legs, although it was always at a snails pace. I referred to our walks as “Walkin’ Miss Daisy”.

You enjoyed relaxing on a soft patch of grass, watching the birds, or the squirrels who would natter at you, or just watching the world go by. You seemed equally content to snuggle into a blanket, (with a pillow, of course) and fall asleep to soothing Native American Flute music. You were my Zen dog.

With your advancing age and health issues, a stroller became your new way to get around. You took to it like a duck takes to water. You still enjoyed walking for short sniffaris, but welcomed the chance to sit in comfort and allow your weary heart and limbs to rest while we continued our walking adventure.

When you lost your vision and hearing, you didn’t lose your zest for life. You still made me laugh heartily everyday, at your antics. I became your eyes and ears, and you trusted me completely. Your stroller doubled as a safe space, a place to nap freely and safely when not at home. With the introduction of a snuffle mat, you were able to indulge your keen sense of smell and looked forward to that daily challenge.

Every day you amazed me with your adaptability, courage, and positive mindset. You continue to be an inspiration for me and many others.

I am so blessed you chose me to share your life and love with. Thank you for your patience and tolerance while I stumbled through the many lessons you taught me. I am forever grateful to have been entrusted with your care, and I so look forward to being reunited with you. I am the richest person, who has ever walked the earth, because of the many memories my heart holds of our time shared together. Thank you. I love you Teboo 💕

A sincere thank you to Nicole and Dr Rita for their compassion, kindness, and support.
