Pongo

Yesterday FB shared this memory of Pongo from 3 years ago.

He’s in his happy place here, dressed for all weather and revved up for his twice daily walk to visit his neighbours. Which we did faithfully until 3 weeks ago.

A week ago today, he passed peacefully in Mom and my arms, in my living room, with Auntie Nancy. The swelling he’d had on his paw for months that would not heal, turned out to be cancer.

He would have been 17 years old on January 14th. He joined our family 15 years ago when Cause for Paws rescued him in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Good natured and gentle, he was much loved. Thank you to all the wonderful people and pets who shared his joyful journey.
