Memphis Jayne

My dear sweet girl and cuddle companion, I will love you and miss you forever.
Memphis was born in London Ontario. She came to me 2 weeks before her 2nd birthday & we were together since. She was the sweetest, gentlest dog I've ever met. Multiple mail carriers even commented that she was the friendliest dog they'd ever had on their route. She would just watch them come then go. On the rare time she had a problem with a person - I KNEW there was something wrong & to beware of them.
She was the sweetest companion I could have ever dreamed of having with me. She was also sooo smart! A couple times she got loose when being taken for a walk. What did she do? Ran straight home & lay down in 1 of her favorite spots. There were other times where she was loose for lengthy times or someone left the gate open - she wouldn't leave. She knew if I was there it was home & she wasn't going anywhere! I usually even had to tell her it was ok for her to go for a walk with a trusted person.
When Memphis first came to me she just had the 1 name - it didn't take long for me to realize that with her big (but quiet) personality she needed a middle name. So I renamed her Memphis Jayne. Memphis loved to garden. I remember 1 very warm spring day I planted 12 iris bulbs, then I went in the house to get a cold drink. When I came back out, she had carefully dug up each of those bulbs & lined them up just as carefully. She was sitting beside them looking so proud of herself!
Last year Memphis suddenly started waving to people! I guess she'd seen me wave to people so often, she thought she should do it too. It never failed to surprise a person to suddenly have this beautiful blue eyed girl wave to them!
It has broken my heart to have to say goodbye to her. All I can do is trust that she's happy, pain free & having the time of her life playing with Mary (her bestest doggie friend). I love you my baby & am so grateful that she picked me to be her Mom.
Memphis loved her walks with Alex, being brushed by Danika, visiting with Bella & of course with Lisa! She loved her Grandma & her Uncle Tiger too. She loved cuddling with her Mom, as much as I loved cuddling with her. I will always miss you my baby, I hope you're having a great time playing with Mary again.
I will also always appreciate the kindness, caring & compassion DR Rita showed while helping us to say goodbye to my sweet Memphis.
