Carex

Carex joined our family as a 7 week old puppy in March of 2011. He became the official greater of all humans encountered, often delicately placing his rear end on their feet to ensure they took time to give him a good greeting. Other dogs were respectfully disdained - as long as they weren’t aggressive. He handled that by pressing close to my side until we could move away. I  figured he knew more than me during those encounters. We lived by the water for many years with morning walks along the beach and winter walks in nearby forests. Carex had some challenging puppy behaviour that took us all time to figure out how to live with - we appreciate that he reminded us of the value of patience and perseverance. Carex’s favourite past time was chasing around a red ball full of kibble. amazingly athletic! We will miss him always - it’s comforting to remember he had a wonderful, relatively long life as a valued family member and a very peaceful and comforting passing on April 25, 2023.
